Year 6 Transition Day – Thursday 3rd July 2025

Arrival Time

Students are to arrive at school at 8.25am and can come into the playground by both the front gate (adjacent to reception) or the back gate (opposite Ingleby Mill Primary School). Staff will be at both points to meet and greet your child upon arrival and take them where they need to go.

Clothing Requirements

Students are to wear their Primary School PE kit as they will be taking part in some physical activities during some of their taster sessions. Please ensure your child is wearing sun cream if it is a hot day as there will be some time spent outside.

Activities & House Groups

Your child will be assigned their Tutor and House Group on Transition Day and this will be their House Group that they will remain in for the duration of their time at Ingleby Manor School. Friendship groups and information provided by primary schools are taken into consideration when assigning these.

Below is a plan for the day and the subjects your child will have a taster of.

Food & Drinks

Lunch will be provided to your child free of charge on transition day and will include a main course and a dessert of their choice along with a cup of water. Any allergies that we have been notified of will be accounted for.

If your child wishes to bring a packed lunch, they can do so. 

***Please note – students are NOT permitted to bring any nuts or nut based items into school and also are NOT permitted carbonated or energy drinks*****

Please ensure that your child has with them a water bottle to use throughout the day. All new starters have been issued an Ingleby Manor School Waterbottle. These can be filled throughout the day at the water fountains located across the school

Collection Time 

Your Child will be available to collect at 3.30pm. Please come to the side door to the Sports Hall (adjacent to the school carpark) and we will have your child ready for you.

***If you would like your child to walk home alone or with a sibling currently attending Ingleby Manor School, please notify me via email to younge3@inglebymanorschool.org.ukso we can arrange this. Without notification, for safeguarding we will not permit your child to leave without a parent/carer.***

Uniform Purchases at Transition Day

Motif 8, our uniform provider will be on site at 3.30pm in the Sports Hall for you to purchase uniform to take away with you if you have yet to organise this.
