“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”
― George Santayana

History at Ingleby Manor Free School is relevant and vital. It is taught in a manner that inspires our students, creating debate, curiosity and most importantly an understanding of the world in which we live today. Through interactive and challenging lessons students are taught the skills of historical inquiry, gaining an understanding of their own unique position in the world by studying human behaviour over thousands of years. We have the ability, through technology, to capture moments of wonder, awe, human tragedy and triumph – from simple moments of invention to self- sacrifice and world conflict. History provides for our students the opportunity to reflect on what is possible and what can be achieved.
