“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
― Michael Jordan

With modern lifestyles Physical Education and Sport has never played a more important role in the development of young people. At Ingleby Manor Free School we aim to develop pupils’ knowledge and understanding of the importance of health and fitness and how having healthy bodies help to produce healthy minds. Alongside this we aim to encourage the development of general co-ordination and efficiency of movement and in doing so provide opportunities through which students can participate in sport at various levels – from recreational to inter-school competition in a wide range of sports. In providing engaging activities our intention is to develop positive attitudes in students and to communicate an understanding of moral values such as fairness, honesty, good sporting behaviour and respect for others.
